Important: Hotel accommodation in Dehradun on 12 November and 18 November must be arranged and paid for by each participant. Accommodation from arrival at Raithal on 13 November through the night of 17 November is part of the trek stay arrangements.
This note explains where participants will stay before, during and immediately after the expedition. The on-trek accommodation details below are based on Indiahikes' current Dayara Bugyal Trek information, while the Dehradun hotel suggestions are taken from Indiahikes' hotel recommendation page.
1. Before the Trek: Dehradun Stay on 12 November
Participants should reach Dehradun on 12 November 2026, one day before the trek begins. Indiahikes advises trekkers to arrive on Day Zero so that they are rested before the long drive to Raithal the next morning. The hotel stay on 12 November is not part of the expedition accommodation arrangements. Each participant must make and pay for their own booking.
Indiahikes currently recommends the following three Dehradun properties:

Pickup-point note: The current Dayara Bugyal page lists the trek-specific pickup from Asli Pappu Da Dhaba, Dehradun at 6:30 am on Day 1. Participants should follow the final pickup instructions issued for our expedition rather than assuming that a recommended hotel is the pickup point.
2. Accommodation During the Trek: 13–17 November
From the time the group reaches Raithal on 13 November through the night of 17 November, accommodation will follow the Indiahikes Dayara Bugyal trek setup. At Raithal, participants stay at the Indiahikes Community Campus in Swiss tents. At the trekking campsites, participants stay in four-season tents, normally shared by two trekkers.

Sleeping and sharing arrangements
Indiahikes states that accommodation is separate for men and women, except for couples or families.
Indiahikes provides essential camping gear including sleeping tents, sleeping bags designed for cold mountain conditions, hygiene liners and foam mats.
Toilet facilities
At the Raithal base camp, concrete toilets are available.
At trekking campsites, toilet tents are set up. These are dry-toilet systems, and Indiahikes asks trekkers to use plain toilet paper rather than wet wipes.
3. Return to Dehradun: 18 November
On 18 November, the group will drive from Raithal back to Dehradun. Indiahikes' current itinerary states that the drive is approximately 185 km and that trekkers are expected to reach Dehradun at around 6:00 pm, subject to mountain-road and traffic conditions.
Accommodation for the night of 18 November in Dehradun is not included. Each participant must arrange and pay for their own hotel stay for that night.
Travel buffer: Indiahikes recommends keeping a buffer for the return journey because mountain-road delays can occur. Participants should therefore avoid planning a tight onward connection immediately after the scheduled arrival in Dehradun.
4. Participant Accommodation Checklist
- Book and pay for your Dehradun hotel for the night of 12 and 18 November 2026.
- Check the final expedition pickup point and reporting time before travel.
- Do not assume that the hotel you select is itself the expedition pickup point.
- Be prepared for shared tent accommodation during the trek.
- Keep sufficient flexibility in onward travel plans in case the return from the mountains is delayed.
