Our Himalayan Expedition begins at Dehradun on 13 November 2026. To make the journey smooth and comfortable for everyone, we request all participants to carefully plan their travel to Dehradun in accordance with the following guidelines. These guidelines are based on the recommendations of Indiahikes, our Trek Partner.
1. Reach Dehradun on 12 November 2026
Indiahikes recommends that trekkers arrive in Dehradun on Day Zero, i.e., 12 November 2026.
We strongly recommend following this advice rather than planning to reach Dehradun on the morning of 13 November. Arriving a day earlier provides time to rest after your journey, settle in, and be ready for the long road journey to Raithal the following morning.
Participants will need to make their own arrangements for travel from their home city to Dehradun.
2. Pick-Up from Dehradun on 13 November
According to the current Dayara Bugyal itinerary published by Indiahikes, the group pick-up is scheduled as follows:

Participants should plan to reach the pick-up point sufficiently before 6:30 am so that the group can depart on time.
3. Transport from Dehradun to Raithal
Indiahikes arranges group transport from Dehradun to its Raithal base camp. Indiahikes currently specifies that these are non-air-conditioned vehicles. Their published charge is ₹1,300 plus 5% GST per participant, one way.
Included in your programme fee. For participants of this expedition, Nirog Bhumi will bear the cost of the organised transport from Dehradun to Raithal. Participants will therefore not have to pay separately for this journey.
Indiahikes describes the service on its website as organised transport/non-AC vehicles, rather than specifically guaranteeing a particular type of bus. The exact vehicle used will depend on the final group size and arrangements made by Indiahikes.
4. Return Journey to Dehradun on 18 November
On 18 November 2026, the group will travel from Raithal back to Dehradun. The Indiahikes itinerary currently provides for an approximately 185 km, 8–9 hour journey, with arrival/drop-off at Asli Pappu Da Dhaba, Dehradun at approximately 6:00 pm. The return transport is also non-air-conditioned.
Indiahikes recommends booking onward travel only after 8:00–9:00 pm on the final day, and preferably keeping an additional buffer by travelling the following day, because mountain-road journeys can sometimes be delayed.
We therefore recommend that participants book return tickets from Dehradun for 19 November or later.
Important Notes
Final Confirmation of Travel Plans
Travel arrangements, vehicle details, pick-up locations and timings can occasionally change because of operational requirements, weather or road conditions. Nirog Bhumi will reconfirm the final pick-up point, reporting time, vehicle arrangements and return schedule with Indiahikes and communicate the confirmed information to all participants before the expedition.
Travel Flexibility and Unforeseen Changes
Himalayan treks can sometimes be affected by circumstances beyond anyone's control, including adverse weather, road conditions, natural events, or government and local authority directions. Such circumstances may require changes to the trek itinerary and, in exceptional situations, could lead to the postponement or suspension of the trek at short notice.
Indiahikes Shield. Indiahikes offers an optional Indiahikes Shield which, subject to its applicable terms and conditions, provides protection of the trek fee in the event of certain last-minute trek suspensions. Read more about the Indiahikes Shield ↗. It is highly recommended that you opt for the Indiahikes Shield — let us know if you wish to apply for it. This is paid for by the participant in addition to the programme fee.
Participants are strongly advised to book cancellable flight and train tickets wherever possible. This will make it easier to change travel plans, without financial loss, if the trek schedule is affected by circumstances beyond our control.
Even where the trek fee may be protected or refunded under the applicable Indiahikes terms, participants should note that their independently booked flights, trains, hotels and other travel expenses shall not be covered.
Nirog Bhumi and Indiahikes will endeavour to communicate any material changes to participants as early as reasonably possible. However, circumstances such as sudden weather changes or government directions may sometimes require decisions to be taken at very short notice. Participants are therefore requested to keep a reasonable degree of flexibility in their travel plans while making arrangements for the expedition.
Neither Indiahikes nor Nirog Bhumi shall be held responsible for any changes, delays, postponements or cancellations arising from circumstances beyond reasonable control, or for any consequential financial loss incurred by participants as a result of such changes.
